Possibly a new line of Suncatcher Eyes, depending on how customers respond. I love the green gold eyes... they look like pools of water.
These eyes are available in 12mm for $5 per pair in my Etsy shop.
Special Announcement: As of 4/30/2008, all Suncatcher Eyes patterns Creative Commons licenses will change. Permission is now given to make as many dolls as you like and even sell them, just give credit to www.suncatchereyes.net. The pattern itself is still protected by the Creative Commons license and cannot be resold.
The pattern licenses were restricted in the beginning because I had always hoped to make more of my dolls. Unfortunately, I have a medical condition that prevents me from crocheting for too long at a time, thus not allowing me to produce more of the dolls from my patterns. I will now leave that up to my customers :)
Some of the patterns for sale at Suncatcher Eyes and on Etsy:
Don't forget to check out http://www.suncatchereyes.net for lots more free patterns and other patterns for sale (with the same new licensing!).
I was browsing Etsy this morning and came across a listing for 16 animal eyes for $3.50. For those of you who don't know, I sell 16 pair of handpainted animal eyes for $16. I'm not afraid of the competition because honestly there is no competition where quality is concerned. But what bothers me is that they couldn't come up with the number of pairs on their own, they had to offer what I offer.
The other part that bothers me is that the eyes they sell come with the yellowish plastic washers, which are a pain in the youknowwhat to attach, and they are not good quality. That is going to turn off crafters who buy eyes over the internet, i.e., my customers. Is that really worth making $3.50? *headdesk*
I'm looking for some plush and soft toy makers to partner with as a way to promote Suncatcher Eyes. Want some free hand-painted eyes? Contact me and let's work something out.
