From me to you. There are no restrictions or limitations on this pattern. Make them, sell them, enjoy them!
Materials:
Worsted weight yarn in 2 colors (1 for cupcake, 1 for frosting)
Size G crochet hook
Beads or ribbon for decoration
Directions:
Row 1: Ch. 9. Work 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. 8 st. Ch. 1, turn.
Rows 2-35: Work 1 sc in the back loop of each st across, 8 st. Ch. 1, turn.
Row 36: Work 1 sc in each back loop of each st across, 8 st. Do not ch 1.
Turn your work so that you will be crocheting up the edge of the rows. This will form the bottom of the cupcake.
Row 37: Work 1 sc in 1st row of the opposite edge of cupcake bottom (will join the piece to form a ring like in the photo below). Mark beginning of round. Continue working 1 sc in each row all the way around, 36 st.
Rows 38-40: Work 1 hdc in each stitch around. Ch. 1, turn.
Row 41: * Work 1 hdc in next 3 stitches, work next 2 stitches together with hdc*, repeat from * to * around.
Row 42: Work 1 hdc in each stitch around. Ch. 1, turn.
Row 43: *Work 1 hdc in next 2 stitches, work next 2 stitches together with hdc*, repeat from * to * around.
Row 44: *Work 1 hdc in next stitch, work next 2 stitches together with hdc*, repeat from * to * around.
Row 45: *Work next 2 stitches together with sc*, repeat all the way around.
End, leaving a long tail for sewing. Weave tail through remaining stitches and pull tightly to gather top of cupcake. End, sew in end.
Join frosting color to first row of frosting as in photo below. Work 2 dc in each stitch around. End, sew in tail.
Using cupcake color, sew up side seam of the bottom of the cupcake.
Decorate the cupcake frosting as you like. Seed beads make cute sprinkles.
If you crochet, or know someone who crochets, keep an eye on my blog. I will be posting the Blythe cupcake hat pattern very soon.
UPDATE: Here it is on my free patterns page, plus a pattern for Blythe mittens too!
Not the food, the Etsy shop.
I remembered something this morning. The nickname my Dad gave me when I was little was Blueberries because of my blue eyes. So my new Blythe shop name is Blueberries. I wanted a shop name that would make me smile when I logged on, and that's it. It makes me think of my Dad.
I listed some newsboy caps this morning, but they've sold out already. I wasn't expecting that! The shop is empty at the moment, but I'll be busy making lots more hats and adding them to my shop. If you would like a newsboy cap in a certain color, or would like a different style of hat, feel free to let me know.
This is what the newsboy caps look like:
If you see a Blythe hat that you would like in Pullip size, I can do that too. Just ask. I'll be adding Pullip hats, too, but it'll take a week or two.
The Blythe and Pullip hats on clearance are still at Chez Michelle Designs.
Thanks to everyone who suggested a name for my shop!
Since I have absolutely no imagination when it comes to this kind of thing, can anyone recommend a really cute name for my new Blythe and Pullip crochet shop? I'll probably be listing hats, scarves, mittens, and some sweaters and what not eventually.
If I choose your suggestion, I'll let you pick whichever hat you want as a thank you gift (as long as it's still available in my shop). See the two previous entries below for photos of the hats available. If nothing there strikes your fancy, just let me know what you're looking for and we can work something out.
Same reason. My Blythe and Pullip things are getting mixed up with people-size hats and patterns. So, look my new Blythe and Pullip shop on Etsy coming soon.
In the meantime, I'm putting my remaining Blythe hats on sale: (and I also love trades!)
To make things less confusing with my Etsy shop, I'm going to be opening a new shop just for Blythe and Pullip hats, etc. Some people were confusing the hats with the patterns for the hats.
Anyway, rather than re-list all these in a new shop, I thought I'd just put them up for sale and clear them out. All the prices are reduced to $3 to $4. And if you have an Etsy shop, I LOVE trades :D
