I've just added a bunch of new colors. Here they are:

They will be added to my website this weekend (fingers crossed) and are available upon request and through my Etsy shop.

I am really excited about the response to the Suncatcher Eyes Treasure Chest contest. There are still 4 weeks left, so there is plenty of time to enter for a chance to win $60 worth of Suncatcher Eyes and noses in a convenient storage box. The response has been so wonderful, in fact, that I'm thinking of running a contest each month. Maybe next month it will be for a box o' noses. What do you think?

Suncatcher Eyes in the Netherlands

For those of you in the Netherlands, some Suncatcher Eyes are now available on a local website. I am thrilled that Koekeridoo will be carrying Suncatcher Eyes.

If you haven't checked out Koekeridoo, please do. It's a fun site to visit even if you don't speak Dutch (you can use Google translate), and it's even better if you do speak Dutch :) Tess at Koekeridoo offers everything you could possibly want for amigurumi making, and she makes the most adorable amigurumi giraffe and cows!

It's interesting what you get when you google yourself. Today I googled my business name and came up with an article where my Etsy shop was mentioned! How exciting is that?!! Check it out here: The Indie Design Movement

This is the hat with my logo design for Blueberries.etsy.com. It will come in different colors and sized for Blythe and Pullip. What do you think? Does it look enough like blueberries?

I remembered something this morning. The nickname my Dad gave me when I was little was Blueberries because of my blue eyes. So my new Blythe shop name is Blueberries. I wanted a shop name that would make me smile when I logged on, and that's it. It makes me think of my Dad.

I listed some newsboy caps this morning, but they've sold out already. I wasn't expecting that! The shop is empty at the moment, but I'll be busy making lots more hats and adding them to my shop. If you would like a newsboy cap in a certain color, or would like a different style of hat, feel free to let me know.

If you see a Blythe hat that you would like in Pullip size, I can do that too. Just ask. I'll be adding Pullip hats, too, but it'll take a week or two.

The Blythe and Pullip hats on clearance are still at Chez Michelle Designs.

Shop

You can probably relate if you're into old movies.

I just got the boys to bed and sat down to channel surf. I saw a listing for The Shop Around the Corner and thought "nah, it can't be". I didn't know You've Got Mail was a remake of an old 1940s movie. The one on last night was the original with Frank Morgan (the wizard in Wizard of Oz) and Jimmy Stewart. I didn't care for the lead actress, but the rest of the film was fun to watch. For one thing, it was supposedly set in Budapest. All the writing on doors and boxes and things in the movie were in Hungarian, but all the actors had American accents. Oh, and the money was called pengo. That struck me as being so funny.

A few years ago I was sick with the flu and couldn't sleep. I got out of bed at about 2 in the morning and drank a hot cup of Theraflu (awesome stuff for a cold or flu). I was channel surfing then too and came across The Grapes of Wrath. Simply awesome movie.

There is one major pet peeve of mine regarding TV and movies: The closed captioning. I'm not hard of hearing, but I use the closed captions when my kids are going to sleep (otherwise they'd stay awake and listen to it) or if I want to catch every word. I think the closed captioning is done from a script and not the finished film. It's really annoying. But at least closed captioning on films is consistent. Have you ever had the closed captioning on when watching a TV show? Obviously none of the major networks cares that viewers who are hard of hearing can't keep up with the dialogue (unless they read lips or something). Half the time the captioning is at least a couple minutes behind the dialogue, and the other half it is gibberish like someone decided having something typed in the captions was better than nothing. Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen closed captioning on TV that has actually included a complete, accurate sentence from the show.
