The crochet pattern for Sam the Skater is available at Suncatcher Eyes. It comes complete with instructions to make the beanie and skateboard. This pattern could easily be made into a boy simply by changing the color of the clothes :)
As many of you know, I'm slowly trying to grow my business, Suncatcher Eyes. I've tried advertising in a few places with limited success. Craftster advertising has done well for me, but Google AdWords has not (obviously can't target my small audience that way). Does anyone have any suggestions where I might be able to advertise that would target soft toy, plush, and bear makers? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Create Magic Ring (Leaving a long tail, ch. 4 and join with sl st to form ring. Work 10 sc in center of ring and around tail. Pull tail tightly to close the hole). Mark beginning of round.

Row 2: *1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to * around.
Row 3: 1 sc in each sc around.
Row 4: *1 sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to * around.

Rows 6-12: 1 sc in each sc around.
Row 13: *1 sc in next 5 sc, sc next 2 together*, repeat from * to * around.
Rows 14-15: 1 sc in each sc around.
Row 16: *1 sc in next 4 sc, sc next 2 together*, repeat from * to * around.
Rows 17-18: 1 sc in each sc around.
Add facial features at this point. Eyes should be positioned in row 11, 9 stitches apart.
Row 19: *1 sc in next 2 sc, sc next 2 together*, repeat from * to * around.
Rows 20-22: 1 sc in each sc around.
Row 23: *1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to * around.
Join with sl st and end, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Finishing: Stuff balloon firmly. Attach yarn needle to tail. Sewing in and out of stitches, sew up 2 rows. Sewing in the 21st row, sew up and down around each stitch all the way around and pull tightly. This will form the little scrunched up part at the bottom of the balloon. While pulling tightly, finish off. To hide yarn end, push the yarn needle up through the body of the balloon and out the other side. Pull tightly, and cut. This will hide the yarn inside your work. Using yarn of a contrasting color or ribbon, tie a little bow around the bottom of your balloon. Push a swizzle stick or wooden skewer up through the bottom of your balloon for its string.

This project is taking way too long, especially since i was so excited about it. I started this little girl so I could use one of the new noses. But she's going so slow. This last week, we had a sick dog, teen drama, more teen drama, and general chaos. So not much "me" time. But now the dog is better and the teens are better, so maybe this little girl will get some legs and feet now. I'm thinking big feet that stick up when she sits down. And maybe a hat and dress? Not sure yet, but she won't be nekkid.
I used a totally different yarn this time. After stocking up on just about every color I could find of Caron Simply Soft and Bernat Satin, I've found out that good old Wool-Ease makes awesome amigurumi. The natural wool gives it a bit of stretch so it doesn't have to be worked so tightly as the other yarn. Looser stitches mean no sore fingers, and the natural stretch of the wool also closes up any gaps between stitches. Now to start saving up for more Wool-Ease!
I love this nose. It looks just like my dogs' noses :D.
